External Affairs Manager
Alabama Power Company
Beth Thomas is the External Affairs Manager for Alabama Power’s Mobile Division. In this role, she is responsible for Public Relations, Media Relations, Charitable Giving and Internal and External Communications.
She began her career at Alabama Power in 1990 at the Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan where she managed the plant’s on site information center and was responsible for outreach in the surrounding community. Prior to coming to Mobile, Beth managed communications for the Plant Vogtle new nuclear units currently under construction by Southern Company near Augusta, Georgia.
Beth is a former state president of the Alabama Power Service Organization, a non-profit organization with more than 4,000 members across the state who focus their efforts on helping communities with projects that promote education, the environment and critical human needs across Alabama.
Here in Mobile, Beth serves as President of the Board for Partners for Environmental Progress. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southwest Alabama and Distinguished Young Women. She is a board member of the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program and the Via Health, Fitness and Enrichment Center. She is also a member of the Senior Bowl Committee and a board member for the Mobile Chapter of the Public Relations Society of Alabama.
Beth is a native of Monroe County and a graduate of Troy University where she holds a degree in Public Relations and Journalism.
Distribution Support Manager – Mobile

Chris Lucassen is the Distribution Support Manager for Alabama Power’s Mobile Division. He graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and is also a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Alabama. During his 24 year career with Alabama Power, Chris has worked in the Corporate Office and three of the six geographic divisions. He has an extensive background in storm restoration and currently serves as the Emergency Operations Plan Director for Mobile Division. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating the power restoration effort for Mobile County and the surrounding areas served by Alabama Power. A Baldwin County native, Chris currently lives in Daphne with his wife Cynthia and their two daughters.
